Description
Among my paintings with Masonic themes, I consider this symbolic work to be one of the most important. Titled “Foundations“, it is one part of my three painting triptych titled “Parable of Light and Shadow”. The artwork was prominently exhibited for eight years at the Chancellor Robert R. Livingston Masonic Library and Museum of the Grand Lodge of New York in New York City where it was greatly admired by visitors from all over the world. The composition of “Foundations” shows the beginnings of Freemasonry starting with Hiram Abiff, the building of the Temple, the early stone Masons and then moves on up through medieval times with Knighthood and the great cathedrals. On into modern times with its epic buildings. The top area of the painting is devoted to the great writers, musicians and philosophers who were Freemasons (Mark Twain, Oscar Wilde, Pushkin, Mozart and Voltaire). Foundations is now being made available for purchase. It is an original signed and dated 2008 Oil on Canvas 36 x 24 inch painting. Buyer will receive a Certificate of Authenticity.
